Airtel 84-day plans by cost per day, and what ₹80 more than ₹899 buys

Airtel's cheapest 84-day plan with daily data costs ₹899 and gives 1.5 GB a day with unlimited calls. The next one up costs ₹979, which is ₹80 more. For that you get 2 GB a day instead of 1.5, and the ₹979 is listed with unlimited 5G data, which the ₹899 is not. Spread over 84 days, the ₹80 comes to 95 paise a day.

Those are the figures in PlanPick's copy of Airtel's prepaid listing, read on 20 October 2026. The rest of this post puts every Airtel 84-day plan side by side by cost per day, shows what the dearer plans charge for their subscriptions, and checks whether three 28-day recharges ever beat one 84-day plan. At the data levels where both exist, they do not.

Cost per day is the price divided by the validity in days, rounded to two decimals. It is the figure each plan page on PlanPick shows, and how cost per day works explains why it is a better guide than the sticker price. Prices can change after 20 October, so check the price in your circle on PlanPick's Airtel page before you recharge.

Every Airtel 84-day plan, cheapest per day first

These are the 84-day plans in our copy of the listing on 20 October 2026. All of them list unlimited local, STD and roaming calls. Our record has no SMS figure for any of them.

Plan Cost per day Data Also listed
₹469 ₹5.58 None Adobe Express Premium, Airtel Safe
₹548 ₹6.52 7 GB for the 84 days Adobe Express Premium, Airtel Safe
₹899 ₹10.70 1.5 GB a day Hellotunes
₹979 ₹11.65 2 GB a day Unlimited 5G, Adobe Express Premium
₹1,099 ₹13.08 3 GB a day Unlimited 5G, Airtel Safe
₹1,199 ₹14.27 2.5 GB a day Amazon Prime Lite, SonyLIV and 18 more apps through Airtel Xstream Play
₹1,729 ₹20.58 2 GB a day Netflix Basic, JioHotstar Super
₹1,798 ₹21.40 3 GB a day Netflix Basic, unlimited 5G

One more entry is left out of the table. The ₹1,029 has 2 GB a day, unlimited 5G and JioHotstar Mobile for three months. Our copy last saw it on 23 September, not on 20 October, so it may no longer be on sale. Check Airtel's page before you plan around it.

What the ₹979 adds over the ₹899

Used every day, the ₹899 gives 126 GB over 84 days, which is ₹7.13 per GB. The ₹979 gives 168 GB, which is ₹5.83 per GB. So the dearer plan costs less for each gigabyte, as long as you use the extra half gigabyte a day.

The 5G line matters too. Of the two, only the ₹979 lists unlimited 5G data. Our copy of the listing does not say how that works with the daily cap, so if you are counting on it, read the plan terms on Airtel's page. If you use under 1.5 GB a day and have no 5G phone, the ₹899 is enough and saves the ₹80.

The ₹1,099 is the next step. It costs ₹120 more than the ₹979 and gives 3 GB a day, which is 252 GB over the 84 days, or ₹4.36 per GB. It also lists unlimited 5G.

Is a 28-day Airtel plan ever cheaper?

Airtel sells 28-day plans at the same data levels as two of its 84-day plans. Three 28-day recharges cover the same 84 days, so the comparison is direct.

Data a day 28-day plan Three of them 84-day plan Saving on the 84-day
1.5 GB ₹349, ₹12.46 a day ₹1,047 ₹899, ₹10.70 a day ₹148
2 GB ₹348, ₹12.43 a day ₹1,044 ₹979, ₹11.65 a day ₹65
2 GB with Netflix Basic and JioHotstar Super ₹598, ₹21.36 a day ₹1,794 ₹1,729, ₹20.58 a day ₹65

The 84-day plan wins in every row. There is one catch in the first two rows. The ₹349 lists unlimited 5G and the ₹899 does not, while the ₹979 lists it and the ₹348 does not. So if 5G is what you are after, the cheapest way to get it for 84 days with daily data is the ₹979, at ₹11.65 a day.

For a full year, the ₹3,599 365-day plan gives 2 GB a day with unlimited 5G at ₹9.86 a day. That is ₹1.79 a day less than the ₹979, but it means paying ₹3,599 at once.

What the subscriptions cost

Above the ₹979 and ₹1,099, the extra money mostly buys streaming apps. The gap to the plan with the same data and no subscription is what you pay for them.

Plan Subscription listed Compared with Extra Extra per day
₹1,729 Netflix Basic, JioHotstar Super ₹979, 2 GB a day ₹750 ₹8.93
₹1,798 Netflix Basic ₹1,099, 3 GB a day ₹699 ₹8.32

The ₹1,729 is listed without unlimited 5G, so against the ₹979 you also give that up. The ₹1,798 keeps it.

The ₹1,199 does not line up with any plan so neatly. It is ₹100 more than the ₹1,099, gives less data (2.5 GB a day instead of 3) and does not list unlimited 5G. What it adds is Amazon Prime Lite and SonyLIV with 18 more apps through Airtel Xstream Play. If you would not use those, the ₹1,099 gives more for less.

Calls first, data barely

For a number you use mostly for calls, the ₹469 is the cheapest 84-day plan in our copy, at ₹5.58 a day with no data. The ₹548 costs ₹79 more and adds 7 GB for the whole 84 days. That works out to about 83 MB a day.

Both are cheaper per day than the ₹185 28-day calling plan, at ₹6.61 a day. Over a year, the ₹1,849 365-day plan is cheaper still, at ₹5.07 a day with no data. If the number is a spare you keep for OTPs, the cheapest recharge for a second SIM covers that case.

84 days is 12 weeks

An 84-day plan lasts 12 weeks, not three calendar months, which run 90 to 92 days. If you recharge on the same date every three months, you go six to eight days without a plan each time. Set the reminder from the expiry date your recharge confirmation shows. The same holds on Jio, and Jio's 84-day plans by cost per day sets out its side of the comparison.
