Jio 84-day plans by cost per day, and what the ₹889 adds

Jio sells two 84-day plans with 1.5 GB of data a day, unlimited calls and 100 SMS a day. One costs ₹799 and the other ₹889. In PlanPick's copy of Jio's prepaid listing, read on 5 October 2026, the only thing the ₹889 has that the ₹799 does not is JioSaavn. That is ₹90 for a music app, or ₹1.07 a day over the 84 days.

Whether that is worth paying depends on whether you would pay for JioSaavn anyway. The rest of this post sets every Jio 84-day plan side by side by cost per day, then answers the question that usually comes next: is a 56-day or 70-day plan cheaper? At 1.5 GB a day, the 70-day plan ties with the 84-day one. At 0.5 GB a day, the 56-day plan wins.

Cost per day here is the price divided by the validity in days, rounded to two decimals. It is the same figure each plan page on PlanPick shows, and how cost per day works explains why it is a better guide than the sticker price. Prices can change after 5 October. For the price in your circle, pick the circle in the header of PlanPick's Jio page.

What the ₹889 adds, and what it gives up

The ₹889 plan gives 1.5 GB a day for 84 days, which is 126 GB in all. It lists unlimited calls, 100 SMS a day, Jio Apps and JioSaavn. That comes to ₹10.58 a day, or ₹7.06 per GB if you use every day's allowance.

Against the ₹799 plan, JioSaavn is the whole difference in our record. The data, calls, SMS and Jio Apps are identical. Jio charges the same rate for JioSaavn on its 28-day plans, too. The ₹329 plan has the same data, calls and SMS as the ₹299 plan and lists JioSaavn, for ₹30 more. Three of those 28-day steps make the ₹90.

Two plans priced right next to the ₹889 give more for close to the same money.

  • The ₹859 plan is ₹30 cheaper and gives 2 GB a day instead of 1.5, for the same 84 days. It is also listed with unlimited 5G data, which the ₹889 is not. What you give up is JioSaavn.
  • The ₹899 plan is ₹10 dearer and runs 90 days, with 2 GB a day and unlimited 5G. At ₹9.99 a day it costs less per day than both the ₹889 and the ₹859.

If you do not use JioSaavn, skip the ₹889. If you do, set the ₹90 against what you pay for it now. Our copy of the listing names the app but not which tier comes with the plan, so check that on Jio's prepaid plans page first.

Every Jio 84-day plan, cheapest per day first

These are the 84-day plans with calls in PlanPick's copy of the listing on 5 October 2026. The data column is per day.

Plan Cost per day Data a day Also listed
₹369 ₹4.39 0.5 GB Nothing
₹448 ₹5.33 None Jio Apps
₹799 ₹9.51 1.5 GB Jio Apps
₹859 ₹10.23 2 GB Jio Apps, unlimited 5G
₹889 ₹10.58 1.5 GB JioSaavn, Jio Apps
₹949 ₹11.30 2 GB JioHotstar, Jio Apps, unlimited 5G
₹1,029 ₹12.25 2 GB Amazon Prime, Jio Apps, unlimited 5G
₹1,049 ₹12.49 2 GB SonyLIV, Jio Apps, unlimited 5G
₹1,199 ₹14.27 3 GB Jio Apps, unlimited 5G
₹1,299 ₹15.46 2 GB Netflix, Jio Apps, unlimited 5G
₹1,799 ₹21.42 3 GB Netflix, Jio Apps, unlimited 5G

From ₹799 up, every plan lists unlimited calls and 100 SMS a day. Our record for the two cheapest has unlimited calls and no SMS figure. There is no 84-day plan with 1 GB a day, so the range jumps from half a gigabyte straight to 1.5 GB.

Two more 84-day entries are left out of the table. The ₹550 is a data pack with 90 GB for the 84 days. It lists Amazon Prime, JioHotstar, SonyLIV and unlimited 5G, and our record has no calls or SMS for it. As data it costs ₹6.11 per GB. Treat it as an add-on rather than your recharge, and check on Jio's page whether it needs an active base plan. Sizing a data add-on helps work out whether 90 GB is the right amount.

The ₹1,028 has 2 GB a day, 100 SMS a day and unlimited 5G in our record, but no calling entry. It is ₹1 cheaper than the ₹1,029, which adds Amazon Prime. We could not confirm from our copy whether it includes calls, so check before you buy it.

Is a 56-day or 70-day Jio plan cheaper per day?

Jio's 56-day plans come with 0.5, 1.5 or 2 GB a day, and its 70-day plans with 1.5 or 2 GB. Each has an 84-day plan at the same data level to compare against.

Data a day 56 days 70 days 84 days
0.5 GB ₹234, ₹4.18 a day None on sale ₹369, ₹4.39 a day
1.5 GB ₹579, ₹10.34 a day ₹666, ₹9.51 a day ₹799, ₹9.51 a day
2 GB ₹629, ₹11.23 a day ₹719, ₹10.27 a day ₹859, ₹10.23 a day

At 1.5 GB a day, the ₹666 70-day plan and the ₹799 84-day plan both come to ₹9.51. The ₹799 is cheaper by a quarter of a paisa a day, which is nothing you would notice. The ₹666 costs ₹133 less up front and runs out 14 days sooner. The ₹579 56-day plan is the dear one, 83 paise a day more than either. Over 168 days, three ₹579 recharges cost ₹1,737 and two ₹799 recharges cost ₹1,598.

At 2 GB a day, the ₹859 is the cheapest of the three, but only by about 4 paise a day over the ₹719. The ₹629 costs about a rupee a day more than either. One step past 84 days, the ₹899 90-day plan beats all three at ₹9.99, and the ₹999 98-day plan comes to ₹10.19.

At 0.5 GB a day the order flips. The ₹234 56-day plan costs ₹4.18 a day and the ₹369 84-day plan costs ₹4.39, so over 168 days you pay ₹702 against ₹738. The ₹369 is also no cheaper per day than the ₹123 28-day plan, since three ₹123 recharges add up to exactly ₹369.

What the extra rupees buy above ₹859

The 84-day plans with 2 GB a day all list 100 SMS a day and unlimited 5G, and all but the ₹1,028 list unlimited calls. What changes between them is the subscription, and the gap to the ₹859 is what you pay for it.

Plan Subscription listed Extra over ₹859 Extra per day
₹949 JioHotstar ₹90 ₹1.07
₹1,029 Amazon Prime ₹170 ₹2.02
₹1,049 SonyLIV ₹190 ₹2.26
₹1,299 Netflix ₹440 ₹5.24

JioHotstar on the ₹949 costs the same ₹90 that JioSaavn costs on the ₹889. Netflix shows up again on the ₹1,799, which has 3 GB a day. Next to the ₹1,199, which also has 3 GB a day and no subscription, it costs ₹600 more. A ₹440 gap at 2 GB and a ₹600 gap at 3 GB suggest the two carry different Netflix tiers, though that is our reading of the prices. Our copy of the listing does not name the tier, so check it on Jio's page.

Calls first, data barely

For a number you use mostly for calls, the cheapest 84-day plan in our copy is the ₹369, with 0.5 GB a day. The ₹448 costs ₹79 more for the same 84 days, and our record gives it unlimited calls and Jio Apps but no data. Whatever it carries that would justify the extra is missing from our copy, so look at Jio's page before paying it. If the number is a spare you keep for OTPs, the cheapest recharge for a second SIM covers that case.

Going longer helps here too. The ₹1,234 plan gives 0.5 GB a day for 336 days, which is ₹3.67 a day.

84 days is not a 3-month recharge

If you came here looking for a Jio 3 month recharge, an 84-day plan lasts 12 weeks, and a calendar quarter runs 90 to 92 days. Recharge on the same date every three months and you are six to eight days without a plan each time, unless you pay again early. Four 84-day recharges cover 336 days, so it takes a fifth to reach a full year.

Set the reminder from the expiry date your recharge confirmation shows, not from the calendar. If you want a plan that matches three months more closely, the ₹899 runs 90 days and, at ₹9.99 a day, costs less per day than every 84-day plan with 2 GB or more.
